BIOGRAPHY - Kathie Adler, a resident of Long Island for over fifty years, is an experienced Reverse Mortgage Specialist and Mortgage Loan Originator. Known as a caring mortgage professional who advocates for her borrowers, Kathie's mortgage experience began in 2001 when she was hired by a mortgage broker in Patchogue, Long Island. Kathie's main focus is her borrower's welfare. Her caring manner and common-sense approach puts borrowers at ease. As a licensed mortgage loan originator, Kathie's specializes in Reverse Mortgages but also helps first-time home buyers and anyone seeking to purchase or refinance a home whether VA, FHA, 203K, Non-QM (bank statement and no-doc loans), or Conventional. HOBBIES AND INTERESTS
Photography: Kathie started her own photography business in the 1970's called Dimension Photos. Kathie specialized in portraits, especially portraits of children, and also did weddings. She was respected as a photographer.
Classical piano: Kathie began taking piano lessons at age 12 and majored in classical piano. She eventually taught piano lessons to children and had recitals in her home. Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin and Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C# Minor were some of Kathie's favorite classical pieces.
Doll Business: Kathie and her husband began a doll manufacturing business in the late 1970's and into to the late 1980's after Kathie began making cloth dolls for her two daughters. Her handmade cloth dolls (and bears) began as a cottage business employing approximately ten sewers who worked from their homes. Kathie and her husband named their business Kathie's Doll Korner which later became Kay Adler Dolls. Their sales representative, Jo Reichel, was able to get Kathie's dolls into shops on Rodeo Drive in California. Many doll shops across Long Island purchased Kathie's line of dolls. Little Switzerland Dolls, Hello Dolly, and many others showcased Kathie's dolls in their stores. A doll manufacturer wanted Kathie to manufacture her dolls in Malaysia, but Kathie and her husband decided against it. Kathie manufactured a 5 foot tall clown, a circus bear, a doll shaped like a pumpkin, and many others. She hired a doll maker to create a bear line as well as Dutch dolls and an Eskimo doll. Christian Radio Broadcast: In 1979 and 1980, Kathie started a live radio broadcast on cults and cult phenomena. Then, from 1985 to 1988, she produced her own Christian radio broadcast that lasted four years. Her radio program aired five nights a week for half an hour on the topic of cults and cult phenomena. Kathie taught on the topic of Jonestown, the Moonies, the Watchtower and other cults. She interviewed former cult members who broke free as well as parents who lost their sons or daughters in a cult. Kathie's program was very popular, ranking number five in popularity among more than thirty programs on the station. In all, Kathie produced 950 radio broadcasts. Website Design: Kathie is a self taught web designer beginning in the 1990's. She created websites for local businesses on Long Island such as Bumblebabies in Bay Shore, creating an entire shopping cart of Bumblebabies toys from the photos Kathie took. Kathie created a health food website for a local health food store with online shopping. Kathie was an avid gardener for years. She and her husband planted dozens of perennials on their property: day lilies, hydrangeas, and various hostas.

Hollywood in the 1950's and 1940's was a mix of comedy, war movies, music, dancing, and drama. I love watching these movies even now, especially movies like Casablanca with Humphrey Bogart or Arsenic and Old Lace with Cary Grant. But my favorite all time film is SOME LIKE IT HOT with Marilyn Monroe and Tony Curtis.
